You might be thinking that since the recession hit 10 years ago and you lost up to 30% of your home’s value, there is no way you've gained all that value back. If you’ve been there for 10 years, you’ve paid off a lot of equity, assuming you haven’t refinanced. You might have paid off enough equity to get yourself out of that home.
