Today, I’m talking about choosing the right real estate agents. How do you know when one is the right fit for you and your family? There are a few questions you should ask.
- Do you work full-time or part-time? Part-time agents typically don’t work at night or show homes on the weekend. They’re less flexible, and might be less dedicated to the trade compared to someone employed full-time in the industry. Many clients need someone adjustable to work outside of business hours, after a client is done with the work day or week.

However, newer agents should have a team behind them.

- How many homes have you sold in the past year and at which price points? This will speak to an agent’s success. Additionally, if you’re looking in a lower range, an agent that sells multi-million luxury properties won’t be your best option. They need to be on the same wavelength as you!
- How long have you been in the business? There’s nothing wrong with new agents. Some of them are serviced-oriented and hungry for work. However, these newer agents should have a team behind them. A team will guide an agent if they have trouble negotiating, or at any other point of the transaction, to serve your best interests and needs.
