If you have already listed your home for sale in Connecticut, then you're doing a great job of taking advantage of the lack of inventory. However, if you're waiting until the spring to list your home, I have a couple different tips for you that might be helpful down the road. A lot of people don't consider curb appeal, but it's extremely important to make your home look as clean, crisp, and comfortable as possible. Below you'll find a list of essential steps you need to take to get your home in good shape to sell.
- Power Washing and Painting: This is important for curb appeal because first impressions go a long way. Clean, bright homes sell much better than unkempt homes.
- Professional Cleaning and Staging: I have a stager that I like to use for my clients. Before you have your home photographed, you'll need it sparkling clean and you will also want a professional stager to come in and display the home in the most positive way possible. With 92% of home buyers searching online, you can't really afford to make a bad impression.
- Don't Forget Simple Changes: Small things like repainting bedrooms, replacing doorknobs, windows, carpet, or upholstery can go a long way. Small things that you may not notice can go a long way because your potential buyer will be keenly observing every aspect of the house.

I'm not saying you need to spend thousands of dollars to remodel your kitchen or your bathrooms, but you should probably consider getting new counter-tops installed. Small changes can eventually add up and make a big difference. Just remember that you want your home as fresh and inviting as possible. You want the potential buyer to be able to see themselves inhabiting your home.
If you have any questions about this or would like to know more about my preferred stager, please get into contact with me via email or phone. I would be very glad to help!
