Today, I want to discuss an interesting
housing trend in the single-family home new construction market. I
know what you're thinking - construction companies are building more homes for
people to buy. Right?
Wrong. They are building more homes for people
to rent. Nearly 25,000 homes were built in the past year as rentals. These
homes are geared toward an interesting subset of renters, as they will have to
pay a premium for new construction.
However, in our
society today, people are more transient, and they're not settling down as much. This is a trend we have to watch because
it could affect resale values as well.
