2. New competition from people who haven't listed their homes before, but are ready to move on.
The second thing we are going to see is a huge influx of buyers, from different places than we have seen in recent years. An increase in relocation buyers is part of it, and in general, people want to take advantage of these extremely low interest rates while they are here. Another demographic we are going to see enter the market in huge numbers is first-time home buyers, taking advantage of new 3% down payment options being offered by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Buyers are picky, so you need to make sure your home is in tip-top shape before you decide to list.
